2011 TACFUG Picnic
9/3/11 12:00 PM
Lake Crabtree Park
The September 3rd family picnic planning has been going
on at a furious pace. (Yawn) I wanted to check back with
folks with this reminder. This is a family event so bring
out the crew and have a good time in the open air!
Lake Crabtree Park is off I-40 at the Aviation Parkway 285 exit. Turn
towards Cary rather than RDU airport. It is centrally located in the RTP region near the airport.
Please RSVP below if you plan on attending!!
Plans are to use the grill for hotdogs starting about 1pm.
This is potluck so bring a dish for your family to share
with everyone. We will manage the types of grub via this
list (so we don't end up with a dozen pots of baked beans.
It has happened before.)
The park has a lot to do including hiking and biking trails,
volleyball, playground, sailing, fishing (don't know about licensing),
and lots of other stuff.
Pets must be restrained with a 6-foot leash at all times (i.e.,
dogs are welcome, but can't run free.)
When?: Sept 3rd at Noon until whenever everyone disappears
What?: TACFUG will provide cups/plates and all that stuff
What?: I'll bring hotdogs, buns, and the debris to put on them
What?: Everyone can bring a potluck dish or dessert and a drink
What?: We will have a grill if someone wants to burn something else besides hotdogs
I have not planned for special diets or vegetarian/vegan
issues. Please plan if you or family members are non-omnivores
or allergic.
We will be at the White Oak shelter and there is a map on
the park site that shows how to get there. It is the 5th
driveway on the right; bear right at split. The shelters are
very nice with lots of picnic tables underneath. There are
"facilities" so you don't have to go in the woods.
